After their dad left and their mother died, two brothers use alchemy to bring their dead mother back. One loses a arm and a leg, the other one loses his whole body whose soul has been trapped by his brother in an armor. Together, they enlist army and seek for the philosopher's stone to have a chance to fix the biggest mistake of their life.
Two brothers lose their mother to an incurable disease. With the power of "alchemy", they use taboo knowledge to resurrect her. The process fails, and as a toll for using this type of alchemy, the older brother, Edward Elric loses his left leg while the younger brother, Alphonse Elric loses his entire body. To save his brother, Edward sacrifices his right arm and is able to affix his brother's soul to a suit of armor. With the help of a family friend, Edward receives metal limbs - "automail" - to replace his lost ones. With that, Edward vows to search for the Philosopher's Stone to return the brothers to their original bodies, even if it means becoming a "State Alchemist", one who uses his/her alchemy for the military.
{im mostly pointing out the problems but is still a very good show)<br/><br/>fma brotherhood is good and you should watch it but there are still some problems.because of the original fma they have a big budget but a lot of the time it look worst then the original and some of the whys the charters look like al are just weird to me and the outlining look really off to me but may can look pasted that. if you watch the original most of the voice acts are in brotherhood but there&#39;s one major charter who they changed that i hate the new voice actor for. al voice acter i just hate he irritating he sounds to much like a young innocent girl (p.s. al is a guy). OK here are some good things about the show. brotherhoods story is still great. it sticks to the manga&#39;s story where the original didn&#39;t. all the voice acts (beside al) are great if you can look pasted (and i hope you can) all the problems its a good show and you should absolutely see it
First let me start by telling you that if you haven&#39;t watched that series than shame on you. It is one of the most popular anime searched online. what makes this anime great is that something shocks you and another thing comes and shocks you more. It has mystery action comedy drama and military and i am telling you when you will finish this series you will be crying whenever you will think of it that is how much this anime is great.

No, this has no relation with the movie or the previous tv series at all. This series follows more closely to the original manga than it&#39;s predecessor, though there are still some cuts from the original source material throughout the series. Several characters from the original manga that were left out of the previous series are used for this series, just as how there are numerous characters from the previous series that are exclusive to that series and are not used here (along with a few minor manga characters that were used in the first series but not here). Also while episodes 2-14 use similar material to the previous series, there are notably a few plot changes as it reflects based on what occurred in the manga and not the previous series. Episode 15 would officially start with the material from the manga that was never used before.
